Official press release:
Interactive visit of the Boutique
The Breguet Boutique moves at 6 Place Vendôme. Both sales areas and museum space share the contemporary spirit of an original décor highlighting the brand's corporate colours. Its 500 square metres today make "6 Place Vendôme" the world's largest Breguet Boutique.
The architectural design work is already apparent on the apertures in the Mansart-designed building facade. Gemstone-like blued glass inserts in the front windows make a strong visual statement while recalling the building's original blue door.
The boutique's decoration scheme focuses on the quality of its constituent materials and the refinement of its decorative details. The choice of materials stemmed from a study of Breguet timepieces. Selected historic designs served as aesthetic references for deep blue enamelled relievo effects and the play of light and shadow over engraved gold patterns. Spatial partitioning draws its inspiration from the elliptic patterns abounding in Breguet's own work, resulting in sinuous shapes and surfaces accompanying visitors throughout their visit to the boutique and museum.
The new boutique features a variety of elegant appointments. Recalling the blueish enamel of Breguet pocket watches, decorative elements in blued glass display Breguet's signature "Clou de Paris" hobnailed pattern. 'Hanging-wall' partition streamers and other gold-toned elements delimit cosy sales booths, playing with light and shadow like the engraved motifs of Breguet watches. Gold inserts in the walnut floors underline the resplendence of these grandly appointed premises and their interplay of royal blue and Sun King gold.
