  • Depth alarm

An alarm on a divers watch which sounds when the wearer exceeds a pre-set depth.

  • Depth sensory/ Depth Metre

A device on a divers watch that determines the wearer's depth by measuring water pressure.

  • Dial

The wristwatch face (placte of metal or other material) on which the time is usually indicated, as well as other information.

  • Diamond

Diamond is the hardest natural material known.  Its hardness and high dispersion of light make it useful for industrial applications and jewellery.  Diamonds can occur in nearly any color, though yellow and brown are by far the most common.  "Black" diamonds are not truly black, but rather contain numerous dark inclusions that give the gems their dark appearance.

  • Digital watch

A watch that shows the time with the use of digits rather than with the use of hands.

  • Direct Drive

A seconds hand on a wristwatch that moves forwards in little jerks.

  • Diving wrist watch

A wrist watch that has a water resistance which enables it to be worm when diving - usually to 200 metres. Usually has a one way rotating bezel; a screw-on crown and back; a metal or rubber strap; a sapphire crystal dial and possibly a wet-suit extension.

  • Duo Time

A wristwatch which has two movements in order for the wearer to keep track of two different time zones.
